How to Use FxSound's Effects

Hey everyone! This is Austin Sweet, and I'm the lead audio engineer here at FxSound. I'm going to quickly talk about FxSound's Effects.

FxSound Effects

Clarity

Clarity is a dynamic high-end boost. It's focused on the ranges that bring out crisp treble tones.

Increase Clarity to add airy, clear, articulate qualities to your audio.

Ambience

Ambience adds in careful, subtly ramping reverberations and reflections. This will imitate a larger space like a concert venue for example.

You can use Ambience to give your sound more room, thickness, and presence. It can also help alleviate the "stuffy" feeling some people have when using earbuds or closed-back headphones.

Surround Sound

Surround Sound helps give your audio more of a left-right spread by widening your stereo mix.

But be careful! This effect is powerful. Increase it carefully and stop once you reach a level that makes your sound expansive.

Dynamic Boost

Dynamic Boost can be used to smooth out, boost volume, and add power to your audio's levels.

A little tip... if you feel like your sound levels go up and down when using FxSound, turn your source's level (main Windows volume) down to about 70-80% and make that volume up by using the Dynamic Boost effect. You should hear a much more lively and full output.

Bass Boost

Bass Boost does exactly what it says it does... it cranks the bass WAY up.

This is where that thump, rumble, and punch all live.

Best Practices

What's the best way to use the Effects? Well... that's up to you! It really all depends on what you like.

I'd recommend you start them at zero, play some familiar audio, and bring them up one at a time until you find a sound you like. Then save these settings as a custom preset so you can use it again later. You don't have to get these perfect the first time! You can always come back and adjust them later :)
